    噴油泵的供油齒杆須保持靈活,以保證調速反應的靈敏性。用靈敏的彈簧秤對齒杆進行拉動阻力測試,對應缸噴油泵的拉動阻力應分別不大於規定值。由於生鏽、柱塞偶件緊固後變形、柱塞彈簧折斷後齒圈與齒杆齧合處碾傷、齒杆端部軸套嚴重磨損、撥叉式油量調節機構的撥叉緊固角度不正確,噴油泵調速器的推力斜盤和飛球座的安裝或配合不良等原因,都會影響供油齒杆的靈活性。當這種影響靈活性的阻力還未達到使供油齒杆不能移動的程度時,就會出現時快時慢現象(若供油齒杆不能移動,出現故障現象將視齒杆停留位置不同而有所區別;例如,柴油發電機不能啟動、不能熄火、轉速不受控製、飛車等)
